Aquamarine
The name aquamarine comes from the Latin for “sea water,” and this gem possesses a blue to greenish blue colour that does indeed remind one of the oceans. Aquamarine has long been considered a symbol of happiness and everlasting youth. In the Middle Ages, aquamarine it was believed to give the wearer both insight and foresight. It was also supposed to induce sleep. When consecrated, aquamarine was credited with giving the wearer power over all evil. Furthermore, it was also believed that water in which aquamarine had been soaked was a cure for eye troubles, breathing problems, and hiccups.
